Rain, Roots & a Whole Lot of Heart: OSL Plants 500 Narra Seedlings
Quezon City, Philippines · August 14, 2026
It was muddy, rainy, and definitely not your usual day at work—but OSL MPs were all in.
On August 14, 2026, One Stop Logistics, Inc. (OSL) MPs traded their usual workday routine for muddy trails, flowing rainwater, and a whole lot of green as they headed to the Million Trees Nursery at the La Mesa Watershed in Quezon City for a tree planting activity.
Facilitated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the team planted 500 seedlings of narra (Pterocarpus indicus), the Philippines' national tree. Native to the country and considered endangered globally, it is one of the main species used for forest restoration and conservation, making each seedling a small but meaningful investment in reviving the country's forests and biodiversity.
Getting those seedlings into the ground, however, was no easy feat.
Heavy rains turned the forest grounds into a muddy adventure, while streams of rainwater flowed across almost the whole trail. Unfazed and resilient, MPs braved the roughly 2-kilometer walk through the wet and slippery terrain to get the job done.
After a short break for early lunch, OSL MPs capped the adventure with a lively singalong during the bus ride back to the Manila office, showing that even after a long, muddy trek, there was still plenty of energy—and good vibes—to go around.
Leading the team with enthusiasm, General Manager Miguel Gutierrez shared, “We may have gotten muddy and wet, but every step was worth it. Planting these seedlings is our small contribution toward a greener future, and I'm proud that our team came together to make it happen.”
With the full support of the Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics (MSL) HR and Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) teams, more than 500 seedlings were planted that day. The activity also planted a shared sense of purpose, teamwork, and the reminder that sometimes, making a difference starts with simply getting your hands dirty.
